Well I did some more of the initial "sign in and setup "things for WebHeads-and I thought it was really quite cool how many people are participating and from all over the world. It's amazing the way the world can just connect like that. Without the internet this would never be possible in the same way. And the great thing is it's free. To see just how many people are contributing to this conference just look at the map below. That's cool.

Jeremy,
Great post. HOW did you get the Frappr map into your blog - I was trying to do that, but got hung up somewhere! I love that little widget - we should have one of those on our Institute web page I think.

Hi, Jeremy.
I agree with Bob: great post!
The Frappr map is a terrific way of illustrating the "connectivism" that's such a key part of Web 2.0 teaching and learning, and it also adds an engaging kinesthetic element.
Like you, I'm amazed with the number of people involved in BaW08 and the variety of countries and cultures represented among its participants. What will be even more amazing is the sense of community that will develop as the seminar continues.
By the way, I knew Kathleen Bailey when she was a graduate student at UCLA, and even though I've never met Leo Van Lier, I've been familiar with his name for a long, long time.
Keep up the good work!

hey Jeremy,
Your blog looks great! Interesting post too. I did not expect the BAW08 to have so many diverse participants and am also amazed at how immediately connected we all are through the Internet. I finally got myself 'connected' on the Frappr map. BTW, your comments in the BAW forum have been interesting too. Looking forward to reading (and seeing) more of your posts.
